Hurley and Nike have recently bonded together in the creation of a revolutionary pair of boardshorts called the Hurley Phantoms with Nike Flywire. All in all, a pretty great sounding pair of shorts. It is because of this that Hurley has decided to put on an event that would represent these shorts under the light of pure fame and fortune. This upcoming Saturday (April 10th, 2010), Hurley is putting on this event called “Upgrade Your Boardshorts” which will promote it’s new boardshorts through contests, free Hurley gear, food, live DJ, the Hurley Surf & Skate team, an INDO dream trip, and more.
The reason I bring this event up is because it has been placed on the table of ArisTech Media to be the agency who leads the promotion of this event through the use of digital technology and the good old fashioned street teams. Since ArisTech Media has never ventured on the ‘street team’ route, this project caught our eyes, especially mine, as an opportunity to expand our reach, especially in regards to our current projects in fashion, film, art and photography.
This Saturday (April 3, 2010), we will have some of the street team down in Huntington Beach passing out the VIP Flyers for the event, so be sure to hit us up if you are down there.
On another note, what do you think make up an effective street team? Are you interested in joining street team for brands that you love and if so, are you willing to donate your time to the brand? Anything else you can add? Comments, suggestions, feedback?
Overall, this project has been quite interesting so far and I am sure that over this next week, we will encounter many new and intriguing facets to the street team mentality and the effectiveness event promotion. Stay tuned for more info.
